Privacy Policy

Short version: we collect what we need to run Ace and nothing more, and we don't sell your data.

Your videos

Your video stays on your device for editing. We never receive the video file or its pictures. The only part of it that leaves your device is the audio, and only when you ask for something that needs a transcript, such as captions or finding clips. We don't keep your videos or your audio.

What we collect

• Your requests to Ace, to answer them. They are also kept in our logs for a short time, to fix problems and spot abuse.
• Your account details (such as your email), when you sign in.
• Your plan and token balance.
• Which version of these terms and this policy you accepted, and when.
• A scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, to limit free tokens. We don't store the address itself.

The companies we use

Ace runs on services from other companies. These are all of them, and what each one gets. Each has its own privacy policy, linked below.

• Anthropic makes the AI that edits your video. It gets your message, the earlier messages in the chat, the video's size, length and where the playhead is, the video's transcript if you made one, a summary of where faces are (positions, not pictures) and descriptions of sounds you asked for. • Deepgram turns speech into text. It gets the audio of your video, only when you ask for a transcript. It passes through our server on the way and is not stored there. Privacy policy
• ElevenLabs makes sound effects. It gets a short description of each sound you ask for. Privacy policy
• Clerk handles sign-in. It gets your email address and the details you sign up with. Privacy policy
• Polar handles payments and subscriptions. It gets your payment details and billing information; we never see your card number, only your plan and its status. Privacy policy
• Cloudflare hosts Ace and keeps our database (token balances, your plan, the hashed IP address) and logs (see above). Privacy policy
• Google serves the fonts and animated emoji some videos use. Your browser loads them from Google, so Google sees your IP address when that happens. Privacy policy

We don't sell your data or share it with anyone else. Some of these companies may process data outside your country.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in.

Your choices

You can ask to see or delete your data at any time by writing to info@ace.video. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the rights the law gives you, such as access, correction and deletion.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above.
